After all that planning, you’d be forgiven for thinking that all you will need on your wedding day is your partner, vows, rings and guests. However, you can solve all manner of potential problems on the big day with a small collection of items you may not have considered yet. Below we have outlined each of these items and explained exactly why they might help you to avoid a wedding day issue. Want the perfect day? Then make sure you take these things with you!
1. A beauty bag
Your wedding make-up artist will no doubt do an excellent job of applying your make-up to last all day, however after hours of emotion and celebration, your make-up is undoubtedly going to require a little bit of a touch-up. The same can be said of your hair. Most make-up artists and hair stylists will provide you with a kit to last you through the day — namely, some of the make-up they used on you earlier that day, and some bobby pins for resetting your ‘do. Task a trusted bridesmaid with looking after your beauty bag and they can help you touch up when the time comes, too.

2. An emergency kit
A good method of keeping calm on your wedding day is to feel like you have every eventuality covered. To do this, you should consider packing a small ’emergency’ kit. This should contain everything you might need, including the following items: superglue, deodorant, a mini sewing set, blister plasters, tissues, snacks, bottled water, make-up remover (for any make-up accidents) and painkillers.
3. A timetable
Another idea for keeping calm on the big day is to print out a timetable. This will let you know what is meant to happen when and where. Print out a few copies to hand out and this will stop guests from asking you questions all day!
4. Morning clothes
If you are having ‘getting ready’ photographs taken on the morning of your wedding, you will want to make sure you have packed some nice pyjamas and a robe for the occasion. Your old threadbare Snoopy PJs from 1998 are simply not an option!
5. A second pair of shoes
While you may have spent hours agonising over which wedding shoes to buy, there’s actually a second pair of shoes you’ll need to buy for your big day, too — a pair of flat, comfy shoes. Once the ceremony is over, you’ve had your photos taken, and the reception is well under way, you will want to mingle and let your hair down with friends and family. That is your cue to whip those heels off and pop on a pair of comfortable shoes or pumps.

6. A phone charger
While most weddings go off without a glitch, issues can occur due to the sheer number of suppliers and guests involved, and in those moments you will want to get in touch with people ASAP. Make sure your mobile phone is fully charged all day by keeping a charger close to hand.
