With names close to matching, Carra and Carl had practically grown up together – they just didn’t know it. Getting together in August 2012, the couple’s first date fell on Carra’s 22nd birthday where the two discovered that they were from the same neck of the woods, their paths just hadn’t crossed until then. Serendipity? We think so.
Perhaps it had something to do with that moment, with a birthday wish, or maybe it was just fate but, these two would now be staying together.
When it came to firsts, the summer of 2017 had a very special significance in their life calander. This would be the couple’s first holiday together and the 4th of July put a new date in their diary. Whilst enjoying the sprawling vistas and exploring the captivating coastline of Paphos in Cyrprus, Carl chose the perfect moment to propose to Carra.

Carra fell head over heels for the ring – Carl couldn’t have done a better job. Sparkle aside, she absolutely said “yes!” to his proposal. As far as holiday romances go, this would now be one to last. Carl’s move did come as a bit of a shock to Carra, who actually swore before giving her verdict! She’d been waiting for him to say those words for so long, that, when the time came, she was entirely, fantastically stunned.
Carl had picked out the ring from among the treasures of Robert Gatward Jewellers. Getting it right came easy with an engagement ring chosen from the heart (and from the heart of our collection!). The brilliance of Carra’s ring was reflected in its art deco cluster of baguette cut diamonds in the centre of a heavenly halo of further sparkling stones. Set in platinum, this ring was made to be admired.
Entirely over the moon, Carra and Carl returned home, as they started, together. The approaching newlyweds are very looking forward to celebrating their special day in what’ll be another wonderful experience for the two to share.
