Breitling have launched a new Breitling Navitimer AOPA (Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association) chronometer-certified selfwinding chronograph in tribute to the legendary 1950s original. Limited to 500 pieces, it is sure to become a collector’s item for fans of the Breitling brand and anyone interested in the connection between watches and aviation.
Since its inception in 1952, the Navitimer, with its patented circular slide rule, has been a hit with pilots (and watch enthusiasts) with the bezel allowing them to make calculations relating to navigation, flight timings and fuelling requirements.
AOPA – aviation’s largest, most influential association in the world, named the Navitimer as its official watch, which is why several 1950s and 60s Navitimers featured the association’s logo on the dial.
This latest, limited edition, reincarnation also features the distinctive “curved wings” logo on both its black dial and caseback.
The new 2015 Breitling Navitimer AOPA is COSC (Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute) certified to ensure reliability and performance. We are certainly delighted to witness the reinvention of this champion of horology.
Extremely limited to just 500 pieces Worldwide but we have managed to get our hands on a couple of these especially for you.
